I got this because I thought I could use the neck option and belt option. This is really better around the neck. I did eventually start using it over the neck and shoulder. It would seem too annoying to strictly go over the neck only. I used it like a satchel but under my shirt. That was a decent way to do it. Using it around my belt and under my pants was a bit of a hassle. The string was too long and would get in the way or bind up my small plastic belt. The bag might actually be a bit too big. I think in hindsight i would prefer all zippers to velcro, a bit smaller and softer.

Purchased as an adjunct to my years old Maxpedition neck pouch as I wanted more capacity. It does fulfill that desire. However, the thread attaching the neck strap to the pouch sides is hopelessly small/weak being susceptible to broken threads with even miniscule tension. Using the strap I pulled the pouch out from under a book (perhaps not under a book but retreving it during travel would not be unusual). 50% of the right side strap (as worn) attaching threads parted while about 20% of the left side did the same. I was home alone on a quiet day and could actually hear the threads rip apart. I would not use it as is and am having my daughter (sewing is a hobby) install a pouch wide horizontal reinforcement at the strap attachment area and probably use a stronger neck strap.

I purchased this for two reasons- I travel weekly and I needed quick access to both my passport and work phone to display my plane ticket- I also liked the idea that it would protect my cards with the RFID- Although I do not hang it around my neck, I keep it wrapped around my wrist- Plenty of room to keep papers, ID etc
