This DVD is nicely done and Lisa is very clear in her explanations, but I really thought it was going to cover more than just rudimentary bag closures. If you struggle with zippers this will be great for you. But if you’ve been making bags for a while and you want information on the different types of closures that are really professional, like turn locks, clasps, and buckles, etc. this doesn’t cut it. Great for beginners, but when you call something The Bag Making Bible, one assumes it’s an in-depth treatise of the topic.

May I also make one critique of her techniques? As a Master Seamstress and instructor I can tell you that you should NEVER use the inner blades of your scissors to cut up to a line. In the video she uses the inner junction of her scissors to cut up to the corner of the zipper opening. NO! That’s the fastest way to over cut! Always use your scissor points to cut up to a mark or a line. If your scissors are not sharp enough at the points to do that, then they need sharpening!

It didn’t have enough of the how to information. It just introduced you to the different closures available. Quality of the DVD was good though.
