Works really well and I feel like I actually amounted to something when I carry this around! I no longer use it, but I bought it to look like a very official substitute teacher, since I was only 21 and trying to make some extra cash on my days where I didn’t have class. Was it overkill.. maybe it was.. but it was still fun to carry around and stored my laptop, day planner and books. The locks came in handy too since kids like to snoop through things.

Yes, I really did buy this. My review can be taken lightly, but also very seriously when I say it is a great buy for the price!

I’ve had this suitcase for a couple of months now and I love it so far. I can’t wear a backpack on certain days because of uniform regulations, and this suitcase has ample room for me to put my notebooks, folders, calculators, pens, pencils, and even my laptop (which I would not advise since it would get pretty heavy).
I love that it can extend half an inch thicker, if I ever need it.
The suitcase looks very professional and I have received many compliments on it. It’s not perfect, but it earns a well-deserved 4 stars at this price.

I used to shop around to try to find a briefcase for my husband that would stand up to daily wear. I spent a lot of money and they never lasted more than a year or two. So now I just buy one of these every year, and for about $20 per year it works out fine. The locks are just not made to hold up to years of opening and closing. And here is a hint – don’t change the combination. I find it lasts longer if you just leave the 000 combo it comes with in place. So to sum up, it’s a good briefcase but don’t expect it to last you for years.

UPDATE: BAD NEWS!! July 29, 2014: I received this case on June 3rd and it only lasted until July 29th! ONLY 57 DAYS!!! Already one of the locks has popped off. Of course, the item is not eligible for return any longer. Oh well, I have learned my lesson. They are just getting more and more cheaply made every year. This is really the worst I have EVER seen. I will switch to the soft, zip-up type briefcase now. It seems like if you don’t want to put out hundreds of dollars, you just cannot go with the hard-sided cases. Hope others can benefit from my mistake and not purchase this item.

UPDATE: GOOD NEWS! August 19, 2014: As I was about to throw out this piece of junk, a small card fell out of the briefcase and it was a warranty card from the manufacturer, Solo. Well, my husband saw it and insisted on contacting the company to complain and inquire about the warranty. They sent us an email with instructions to email them a few photos of the case and the damage along with the original receipt. I sent them all that and lo and behold – they sent out a new briefcase! So even though I don’t hold out much hope for this one lasting very long, I have to give credit to the company that makes it as they do in fact stand behind their product. PS: I told my husband that I wasn’t going to do this every 2 months so enjoy the new case while it lasts!!

UPDATE: FEBRUARY 14, 2017: I just wanted to come back and say that my husband is STILL using the replacement brief case that we received from the seller. The secret is definitely to NOT let the locks snap up when you open it. Just put your finger above the lock at the same time you press the button to open it. The lock will still shoot up, but your finger will stop it from making contact with the metal and this has resulted in the brief case lasting almost THREE YEARS! I can’t believe how long this one has lasted! It is still in great shape and none of the material has worn through and the handle is still very much attached. So please remember that this is a great case but you have to treat the locks very gently and it should last you a very long time.
