This is a good-quality duffel with a high-capacity load, despite it’s fairly small size. I bought it for a 2-week African safari, and had room to spare. It survived without a tear or scratch, and wheeled easily even on rough, non-paved surfaces. It does not have backpack straps or a single carry strap like most duffels, but neither I nor the baggage handlers had any trouble carrying the bag. It’s also nice looking and easy to spot on a luggage carousel (without being some extreme color). The downside is it’s fairly heavy – over 10 pounds – and has a lot of bells-and-whistles that I personally do not use or care for. But I still easily made my 34 lb weight limit on the little puddle-jumper aircraft we used during the safari. This is a sturdy duffel with high-quality seams and zippers. I expect to use it for many years and recommend it over the larger size for all except the longest trips.

Just got back from an 11 day tour of China with two of these 26″ bags and they worked out great! Multiple international and domestic flights. I only have one minor complaint. The lower section is designed with locking zippers (they have holes in the zippers that line up to accept a lock) while the upper large section has regular zippers so you are just locking the normal zipper pull tabs – pretty weak.

Other than that, these were exactly what we needed. We had a 44lb luggage weight limit and managed to keep just under that with 11 days of clothes and the usual travel necessities. I know that weight is totally relative – maybe you like to take a brick with you – but there you go.

The lower hard sided section is divided from the upper soft section by a zippered piece of mesh. If you get into one section, you can get into the other. They aren’t locked apart. You can pack the more fragile items in the lower, hard sided section and everything else in the top section. Keep in mind that the top section is basically a duffle so it’s going to get squished and pushed around like any other duffle but the material is thick and straps help keep things tightly in place.

The wheels are large and durable. The handle is a good size and long enough for me (6 feet tall) to pull comfortably. Handles on top of the bag make it easy lift, especially up into a trunk.

The design/colors make them easy to spot. We really didn’t see any others like this on the belt. Although, maybe with all these good reviews and the price, they could get popular!

If this matters to you, the bags always seem to come down the belt laying on their front. In other words, back side up… laying on their soft side. It would be nice if they defaulted to laying on their hard side with the openings on top but … that’s just the way they end up.

These are going to be our “go to” bags for all of our trips that necessitate checked bags. And for the price, wow!

We waivered between the 26″ and 30″. Glad we went with the smaller because of the aforementioned 44lb limit.

Less than $200 for two great bags, satisfied.

We were required to have bags that measured 54″ or less LxWxH. for a tour. This fits those measurements and is easy to organize, rolls well, and in my case was the only one like it at any of the baggage drops, so easy to identify.
