This review is from: Samsonite Magic 2 In 1 Pillow (Apparel)
    PLUSSES:

    1. This Magic Pillow is novel in how the styrofoam microbeads can be quickly dispersed to either side of the design to allow to be fashioned into a neck pillow or smaller rectangular pillow.

    2. The neck opening is wider than many neck pillow designs, so you don’t get the constricted feeling of some styles. (about 5″ wide and 6.5″ deep)

    3. It’s inexpensive and available in different colors and patterns.

    NEUTRAL:

    4. The microbeads are firmer support than a polyester batting or memory foam style filling. Depending how you sit in a seat, as well as neck height, this may be a plus or negative.

    5. There is a stretchy, thin polyester-spandex cover on top and a plush bottom. The top feels cooler and the bottom a little warmer. Neither surface gets quite as warm as memory foam or inflatable pillows tend to do, but not as cool as feather down. Plus or negative, depending on preference.

    NEGATIVE:

    6. The wider neck opening may be a negative depending on how you hold your head when sleeping in a seat. It is firmer support and the beads easy to disperse for some adjustment, so works well for those who are most comfortable with the head nodded to one side. It’s a little too firm and overfilled with microbeads to be as comfortable for those who like their head to tip back and just want to fill their neck divot with some cushioned support. And not tight enough (and without constraints to secure it as a “donut”) to fasten firmly around the neck for those who want the head to tip naturally forward, albeit fully supported by the pillow.

(Depending on sleeping style the “arm” of the pillow can be rotated around to provide a slightly narrower & less firm sleeping surface than the back area.)

    7. The pillow doesn’t pack flat like an inflatable pillow nor compress as much as batting or memory foam fillings. The Magic Pillow does have a clip for hanging off a carabiner or a luggage loop. (The clip is hidden inside when zipped into the rectangular pillow shape.)

I wish this pillow had enough stars for a rating of 10! Such a soft pillow, and a I love that it can be used as a neck pillow or small pillow. It’s really easy to convert to the square pillow, but a little harder to get zipped and packed into the neck pillow size. I’m sure after squishing it a little more, it will be easier. The neck pilllow size fits perfectly and comfortably around my neck. Provides the perfect amount of support when in a sitting position. And the microbeads make it easy to adjust the support where you need it most. And I love that it has the clip to attach to your bag in case you need the extra room in your travel bags.

I bought this magic 2 in 1 pillow for a trip to Europe to bring in my carry-on for the plane. It’s a great idea – you just unzip it, flip it, rezip it and it turns from a square pillow into a neck pillow. The only thing I found was it was a little bulky to put in a carry-on bag and took a lot of space. My friend saw it and wanted one for herself. she thought it was a great idea as she has a pinched nerve in her neck and needs a u-shaped pillow to sleep on. This is much smaller than the one she usually travels with.
