It might be premature to give a thorough rating, but since I couldn’t find any reviews on this luggage anywhere I thought I would give it a shot. The 28″ Sunset Boulevard suitcase just arrived today and so far it meets my early expectations. It weighs in around the 10lb range or so which is what I was looking for. Maybe most importantly, its outside measurements including wheels and handles comes in around 61″, below the 62″ threshold enforced by most major domestic airlines for checked luggage. I really don’t want to have to worry about paying $50+ each way because my suitcase is an inch or two over the limit. I like the hard, polycarbonate shell and the overall design reminds me of others I had checked out. I obviously can’t speak to its durability or more details as of yet but I’ll update as necessary.

This review is from: Ricardo Beverly Hills Luggage Sunset Boulevard 28-Inch 4-Wheel Expandable Upright (Apparel)
I was planning a work trip that required me to travel with a lot of heavy materials. I knew I wanted a lightweight bag so that I would not incur the overweight baggage fees. I decided to give this bag a try. I was the perfect tester because I was taking a whirlwind trip that would really give the bag a good workout. Sadly, the bag failed. I flew to Thailand with a change of planes in Tokyo. I was in Bangkok and then took a short flight to Phuket. I then took a ferry to Phi Phi Island. I then took a longboat to my hotel. The bag survived all this travel. I did the trip in reverse and when I got back to a hotel in Bangkok one of the plastic bumpers on the side was missing and two very dangerous screws were left hanging off the side (see photos with the remaining bumper and missing bumper circled). The bumper is used to hold the bag when it is placed on its side. I was able to pull the screws through the other side so at least the danger was eliminated but the plastic bumper was gone forever.

I will say the bag did hold a lot of stuff but there are not a lot of compartments; the main compartment and then one zip compartment inside the front lid for dirty clothes, or whatever. I have also decided that I am not a plastic bag kind of person. After this one trip the bag was covered in stickers form the various travel terminals, and they do not come off easily. They all left a sticky residue on the bag.

I am once again in the market for luggage. I gave this bag two stars just because it meets the lightness requirement and it is quite expandable.
