I purchased this for my protec concert-sized ukulele case. I could not attach it. As a seamstress who has built bags and backpacks, I do not believe that this strap can be attached to the case securely without altering either the case or the strap.

It’s a great strap, but it needs instructions and a detailed list of cases it’s intended to be used on. If you have one of the other instruments mentioned in the other reviews, you should get it. It’s well built and well padded.

NOTE: The case I received is a newer model and no longer works with the pro-tec padded backpack strap. :-( I confirmed with the Pro-Tec people directly today. If your max uke case came with two shoulder straps, it doesn’t have the loops for this product. According to the pro-tec people this is a recent change and you may want to contact them directly, if you have any questions about whether your case will work.

Good option for Protec violin case. But I think backpack strap should come with the violin case to begin with.
For the additional 15$, it isn’t that special.
I use this strap (with the case, of course) few times a week, and it took only about five month to see the seams coming apart at the top. Obviously it is the stress point of this strap, so I blame the bad design/cheap material/cheap craftsmanship. The seams and the material should have been reinforced to accommodate the stress.

The clasp for the chest strap in the middle, also broke without doing anything. (Actually, I have never used them)

It is much more comfortable than using shoulder strap, so if you need to carry your instrument around a lot, it is a good option to have. If you only need to carry the case to/from your car, don’t bother buying this. I needed backpack strap because I also needed to carry my guitar case and my book bag at the same time.

So just you know that this shoulder strap will attach to the bottom of the violin case, which means that your violin case will not lie flat while it is still attached. It is a thing to consider, where you open your case.

It still does the job, with the ripped seams and broken clasp. So 3 stars.
