I was looking for a well-made, 4-wheel spinner, no more than 20 inches (in total, including wheels), and under $100. For some reason, these criteria seem to be unheard of. However the Olympia O-Tron fits the bill!

Spinner: So may other items were called “spinner” in the title, but had two single-vector wheels that don’t actually “spin”. If you’ve never used true “spinner” luggage, I highly recommend it! Spinners just move where you need them to go, no matter what direction you’re going in. You don’t even have to tilt the bag out behind you, meaning you can navigate through tight spaces much more easily. The Olympia O-Tron glides easily in all directions.

20-Inch: Other bags were called “20 inch” in their title, but were closer to 24 inches including the wheels and handle! I was looking for something that would fit in the smaller overhead bins on airplanes. By “smaller overhead bins” I mean the ones over the two-seat rows. Some planes have three seats on both sides, and the overhead bins are the same size on both sides. But some planes have three seats on one side of the aisle, and two seats on the other side. The overhead bins on the two-seat side are much smaller, and a “20-inch”/(23-24-inch) spinner just won’t fit on that side unless I turn the bag sideways. But then that means I’m taking up more than my fair share of space, and honestly if I don’t get on the plane early it’s just not going to fit anyway. I haven’t flown since purchasing this bag, but will update my review after it has made a trip or two. This definitely looks like it will do the trick, fitting in smaller bins wheels-first. (Which is how you are supposed to properly stow your luggage.) The Olympia O-Tron is under 20 inches wheels to handle. It looks positively teeny compared to my “20-inch”/(23.5-inch) spinner.

Front Pockets: There are two front pockets. The larger of the two unzips on three sides and stays attached at the bottom. The smaller zips across the front. It’s worth noting that you’re not going to fit a lot of stuff into these front pockets. I can fit my iPad (normal sized, not mini) in the larger pocket, including its keyboard case (which adds a lot of girth). It fits in both landscape and portrait mode. However it does make the front bulge just a tiny bit. Barely noticeable, and wouldn’t be an issue at all with a thinner iPad case. It will alternately fit the TSA-approved quart-sized toiletries bag.. but that makes the front bulge significantly more. There’s no way I could fit both the toiletries bag and the iPad in the larger front pocket. The smaller front pocket can hold anything flat and relatively small. I can’t fit my iPad in there while it’s in its case (well, maybe I could jam it in there but I don’t want to try..), though you could fit an iPad mini if it had no case or a very thin skin/cover. This pocket is fine for smart phones and boarding passes.

Main Compartment: This is roomy enough if you pack light. I intend to supplement this luggage with another small carry-on (as I usually do), so I don’t necessarily have to fit shoes or toiletries into this bag. Again, I will update this review once I’ve traveled with the luggage. I am able to fit my corporate laptop in the main compartment (a Lenovo thinkpad, about 14″ by 10″, plus a little extra for USB dongles). I am considering getting a skin/thin-case for my laptop and putting it in this luggage when I travel, but haven’t decided yet. I may alternately get a duffle bag that will fit the laptop.

Bags On Top: Larger bags are not going to sit well on top of this luggage if you’re slipping a duffle over the extendable handle. I have a 20″ duffle (10 x 10.5 x 20) that would probably topple this thing over if both were full. I’m looking at slightly smaller duffles, which is why I haven’t decided on the laptop skin/thin-case yet. Realistically there’s only 6-7 inches on top of this spinner in front of the extendable handle. There’s about 15.5 inches of width. So my current duffle bulges over the top of the spinner, making it unstable.

Not A Large Bag: If you need to pack a lot of clothes, plus shoes and toiletries, and electronics all into one bag, this probably isn’t for you. I am also a small person so my clothes are fairly small; if you’re a bigger person and need to pack more than a couple of outfits, this is probably also not for you. But if you can pack light and don’t need to over-stuff, if you’re looking for something portable and contained, this bag is for you!

Overall: I am really looking forward to traveling with this Olympia O-Tron spinner! Travel is so much easier and even invigorating when my luggage is as agile as I am. It’s also reassuring to know that this little spinner will fit into the overhead bin no matter what side of the plane on I’m on, and without taking up more than my fair share. I only wish it came in…

I bought this for my 9 year old daughter on her birthday for the 2-3 plane trips we take each year. She used it already and LOVES it. I love it and would get one for myself, but I don’t usually take much onto the plane with me. It will also be great for overnights or weekend car trips. The wheels are great and the quality overall is very high. I purchased a similar Samsonite for my son at Christmas last year. This model is of the same quality. I’m impressed, esp as I got it on sale and for a much lower price than the Samsonite.

I bought this bag to replace a brand new IT 22″ carry on when I found out it was too big for British airways and I would have to check it (pay 100 euros) .I love this bag. The wheels work beautifully and you can put a lot of stuff in it. It is also really easy to spot if you do check it
