After looking at hundreds of luggage sets and reading countless reviews, I ended up purchasing this set, even though it had not been previously reviewed. As I really appreciate the time people have taken to write reviews, I am returning the favor by writing one myself.
The color is more of a wine/burgandy hue with grey sheen overtones, not quite the red in the picture, but very appealing nonetheless, and quite sophisticated.
The luggage appears to be sturdy and of good quality, and has no odor (I read a couple of reviews elsewhere that said the luggage actually stunk, so I thought I’d add this). It has a 10-year warranty, so that is a plus. The four spinner wheels on each piece makes it pull behind very nicely, without tipping from side to side when rolling, as my old luggage did. I am tall and the handles are very adequate and adjustable, so no bumping on the heels when walking.
Finally, the luggage is very roomy, with more actual packing space than you would think. Okay, I’ve been windy, but the botttom line is that I am quite pleased with my purchase.
March, 2014 update: this luggage has now been to Hawaii twice and various shorter trips and still looks great!

This just arrived at my house, and I am very impressed by the look and feel of the luggage. I have not traveled with it yet, but it is beautiful and seems very nice for the price, much nicer than other options I have seen in this price range.

I bought this set as a birthday gift for my husband. We usually don’t spend more than $50 on each other, but I made an exception as we were in DIRE need of new luggage. We’d had our prior set since we got married 8 years ago and it was an inexpensive, crappy set that was completely falling apart with handles and zipper tabs missing, cloth tearing, and wire frame exposed. So it as about time for an upgrade, and an adult one at that. For as much as you can assess a luggage set without actually seeing it and touching it, this looked like a good deal and well made. What cinched the deal for me was the 10-year warranty. I’ve saved the tags and will not hesitate to call in a claim should these NOT make it to 10 years. We travel from coast to coast to visit family several times a year, and my husband travels for business multiple times a year to various places within the US and know that these will get put to the test. They look quite handsome in person, and appear well-constructed, and have held up well in trips to HI and CT thus far. Assuming they hold up for another 9 years, 10 months, I may change my review to 5 stars…
