I ordered this bag to go with my Canon T4i with 18-135 lens and it is a very nice bag, seems to be pretty high quality and will hold up. The side pockets are nice for items like a phone, keys, or clothe to wipe the lens, but the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it is definitely a snug fit for the camera with the 18-135. It fits in there no problem, but when you have the shoulder strap attached to the camera, that takes a little manuveriing around to make everything fit, so a tiny bit more space would be nice. But still a nice bag, well worth the price.

After getting a nice “walk around” lens (Sigma 18-250mm f3.5-6.3 DC MACRO OS HSM for Canon Digital SLR Cameras), I found my main camera case to be unnecessary for most routine photograpy because I’m rarely changing lenses. This has just enough room for a camera and a typical zoom lens, plus pockets on the sides for the camera battery charger and an extra SD card.

As others have said, the zipper isn’t particularly robust. Mine hasn’t broken or anything, but it doesn’t really zip very smoothly, especially around the corners. But it’s good enough, and this case lets me take my DSLR (Canon T4i) just about anywhere I’m going.

If I’m shooting portraits or a relative’s wedding or something, I’ll be taking my full case with extra gear, such as an external flash. But for vacation or holiday snapshots, this is just right.

I bought this bag to hold my Canon T4i with 18-145 telephoto lens. The bag seems solidly constructed and holds the camera suspended and securely in place. The bottom is hard plastic unlike the rest of the bag and could protect the camera and lens if the bag is accidentally dropped with the camera in it. I don’t want to try that test but it would provide better impact protection than the typical soft rectangular bag. This is of course my best guess. It’s best not to ever drop a camera even in a bag.

The way I use this bag is to first place my lens hood in the bottom and then place the camera in the bag with the lens down. The suspension system holds the camera perfect in place.

The bag has 3 zippered pockets which can hold the extra batteries, remote cable and filters. The loops that hold the straps are fabric and might not be the strongest material but should be strong enough.. The handle on top is very soft material and very comfortable to hold for short periods of time.

All in all, it’s a perfect bag for the combination of dSLR camera and zoom lens and would work with all the Canon rebel cameras and similar Nikon cameras with zoom lenses or any other dSLR camera that has a good size zoom lens. It’s not big enough for some of the pro models which would be too tight and weight too much for this bag.

The price is quite reasonable and very competitive with the best bags out there. I use a second small bag to carry extra lenses, flash, and whatever won’t fit in the MegaGear bag. This is not the best bag if you want to use the standard small zoom kit lens which could be placed in just about any bag. It is definitely worth the price and should provide long usage.
