First off, the $9.99 price cannot be beat, so it’s hard to say anything bad. It is well made and fits the body of the EOS-M quite nice. I bought the camera with the fixed 22mm lens, and I wish there was an alternative cover part to fit with this lens. I do plan on eventually buying the zoom lens in which case I’m happy to have this lens cover, but for now it bulks up the camera with the pancake lens. That said, just having the the body cover on it is nice. In summery, great price, quick shipping, nicely made, just wish it would better fit the 22mm lens.

The beautiful case is an eye-catcher. Being brand new, the lens cover is a bit stiff and doesn’t come off easily, unless completely unbuttoned (with wear this will obviously correct itself). Also, removing the case completely (required in order to access battery and sd card) is a little cumbersome. However, I’m happy with the trade-off for better protection and don’t regret the purchase.

I own a lot of cameras. Really, a lot. I collect 35mm cameras and also have modern equipment. When I purchase old 35mm SLR’s the first thing I often do is take the (battered old) ever-ready case and toss it in the trash. I always hated them for being clunky and clumsy and a darn nuisance. They were never high quality, even from the main brands such as Canon, Nikon, Minolta, Olympus. Plus, from the condition of many of them I receive, they do not age well at all (although granted they usually have protected the camera inside very well indeed)

So, when purchasing a Canon EOS M recently and searching for the best case for it, I have to admit about thinking twice before buying this one. However, I was about to go to the Caribbean for a vacation and no time to find any alternatives so I clicked ‘buy’ and then ‘choose one day shipping” (Ker-ching.. thank you Amazon!)

Packaging is very well thought out. Nice cloth bag to keep it in as well.

    Then to the case….

Firstly these guys are missing a trick for selling at $25 – this feels like a much more expensive case than that. Leather is well matched, feels high quality and doesn’t feel like they have skimped on quality at all.

Fixings are all press studs which work well to encase the camera and make it easy to access too. You can take the front of the case off all together very quickly if you need to. You can even attach a tripod through the base socket even though the case is attached to the camera that way. Additional press studs on the sides of the lens (which I never close) make a useful hinge in the lens cover to make it easier to open & close.

If you have the standard zoom lens then this case fits well. You can put the lens hood backwards on the lens and it still fits. if you have the 22mm well it still fits of course but feels like a lot of excess space is being used up in your baggage.

I was never a fan of ever-ready cases but this one is different. It is now permanently on my EOS M whether I am using the zoom lens or not. It feels and looks high quality but is also discrete enough that it doesn’t shout out ‘Steal me!’ when carrying it around.

There is a nice strap with it but I have put the Canon strap on the EOS M and use that whether the case is attached or not.

Love this case, recommended. I only hope the manufacturers don’t take the ‘its at too low a price’ comment too seriously…..
