Used this as a travel bag for nearly a year, and it logged around 40,000 frequent flyer miles and numerous day trips with me as a young attorney. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because the interior laptop, which I usually carried separately, hand the front buckle break off. I’m not one that is necessarily the most gentle with their things considering the amount of mileage I had, but I do treat it with care. The bar holding the clasp in place was loose after the first month or two and eventually fell all the way out, and basically made the inner laptop bag useless, as you’d have to carry it tucked under an arm to keep it from coming open.

I travel extensively. This fits in most aircraft overhead bins, however I sometimes have to disconnect the bag from the cart. I have already broken the tabs off some of the plastic clips supplied with the bag to fasten the bag to the cart. I called McKlein to ask for more and I was told 4 would be sent to me – that was over a week ago and still waiting. Also after these four I would have to pay for them. I thought this was under warranty as I only purchased it two months ago.Quality of the bag is great but very disappointed in the system as a whole. I will not be buying this again and am disappointed after having come from a Wenger that lasted for years until the handle broke.

I have been a software developer for 27 years and have been carrying laptops around for the past ten years. Mostly I used a backpack, but now I am employed as a computer hacker that travels around the country, teaching software development teams the tools and tricks of the computer hacker, so that they will be able to create more secure software.

Sometimes I have to wear a suit, or slacks and a sportcoat. While backpacks are fine for jeans and a T-Shirt, they seriously disturb the lines of a suit. About two months ago I decided I needed a roll-behind bag that would allow me to carry all of the equipment I needed, while not disturbing the lines of my suit.

After a ton of research, I landed on the McKlein Chicago Detachable Wheeled Laptop Case. It also comes with a really nice, matching leather briefcase that I sometimes carry when I just need a laptop and a few accessories for a day-trip.

The retail price of this setup is about $500, but I got mine on Amazon for about $180. The shipping was slightly later than I had hoped, so it was deliverd while I was on a trip, but once I got back I immediately transferred the contents of the backpack to the new case and haven’t looked back.

The McKlein has gone with me on two trips now and is set to travel with me to Canada for three weeks on Sunday. I love it. If it breaks, I’ll buy a new one. I’ll never carry a laptop in a backpack on a business trip again. IN fact, I’ll never use a backpack again. If it’s a short, day-trip, then I’ll use the briefcase.

You can’t do better than this set… unless they decide to make one in a distressed brown leather, in which case this one will be on Ebay and I’ll buy the brown one.
