This backpack is made to minimize the strain on young backs. The back panel is heavily padded, and the straps are wide, thick, and designed so that the clips don’t touch the child. It’s roomy, and all three zippers move easily. The handle at the top is padded. It’s sturdy and securely stitched. All in all, it provided everything I wanted for my 2nd-grade granddaughter at a very good price. She loves the way it looks, wasted no time in stashing all her stuff in it, and was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was. She did complain about the lack of water-bottle netting on the sides, but that’s a trade-off we’re willing to make. Despite the lengthy delivery estimate, it arrived in 11 days. Strongly recommend.

I great back pack for this price. The bag is light weight. Perfect for my 1st grader. She has already been through a bag this year. Her binder cut through the bottom. This bag is a thicker polyester then the old bag. This also has padded straps and padded back. The zippersand seems look sturdy. The colors and pattern are as pictured. It easy fits her 1.5 in school binder, lunch bag, and rolled up snow pants. The heart pocket fits her snack and extra socks and leggings (snowy and cold in the Midwest). The lower pocket fits her small pencil bag. I did put a piece of card board in the bottom of the main pocket to keep the binder from cutting through it, just in case. She really likes the bag. I think it will last a good amount of time. All that said I would recommend this bag for grade school. It would be a little small for middle school books.
