Excellent Stitching, Portability, Storability – Yet Probably Won’t Hold Up in the Face of Extreme Travelling, December 22, 2014

Before accepting this as a review product, I did investigate a little to see what were the particular points of interest and disappointments consumers have had with this style of bag in the past… and I must say, this Gonex product must have done the same thing as well, this being I can only assume an upgraded, superior design over others of the same build.

Flawless, strong stitching all around, including double stitching at important stress points, a roomy backpack in its own right, and now my go-to daily “work” bag for carrying all my loose bits and bobs, such as guitar work tools or if it’s a computer/tablet issue, a carrying sleeve for my 10.1″ tablet, all the cords, batteries, and flash drive pockets I may need.

One very specific caveat, however: the material is indeed very lightweight (and very crinkly sounding), and as a result, not very rugged in the face of brutal manhandling. This thing wouldn’t have survived a Navy deployment, which is my general evaluation standard. Nor would it have even likely withstood general port-side military life. Like I said, the stitching is par excellence, and the bag itself has held up without a single issue for my daily, far-less-demanding civilian work environment, but if I have to go out of state for a weekend conference, this would the one I store INSIDE my far more robust, 20 year old backpack I had bought in Thailand back in the days when rugged AND lightweight was the two critical design elements.

And, I have to be frank – I did request Dark Green (my favorite color), yet in the end, I received Black… ah well, function and form is the same. 😛

Nevertheless, if you are looking for a ditty backpack for a day’s traipsing about a theme park or a simple afternoon’s hike, I’d say go for this one.

    — I received this as a complimentary review product with the aim of hopefully elucidating features and drawbacks that may help you ultimately decide what fits your needs and budget best.

Very high build quality ultra ultra portable, June 16, 2015

    Excellent ultra portable bag

    * larger and roomy then i expected

*super light and feels high quality

    * little smaller than my northface bag (see picture for comparison)

    * folds up neatly into the small pouch attached to the inside of the bag

    * Stitching is flawless and the zippers feel very solid and are very smooth to zip/unzip

    * straps on the bag are very comfortable

There are small pieces of reflective material that makes it very useful wearing it when riding your bike at night. I wear it while riding my bike since it is almost weightless.
I simply love how small it becomes when it folds up i compared it with a deodorant i had handy picture attached. I would highly recommend this backpack, from the built quality looks like it will go a long way.
