This is a specialist bag, sold for a projector and laptop … but I bought it so I could separate a change of clothes from my laptop and papers. The ‘projector’ compartment has a thick but removable padding/liner. That lining is perfect to protect fragile contents but it’s fixed with Velcro and easily removed. That leaves a 15 x13 x 4″ space – big enough for a pair of shoes plus shirt, spare pants etc. The top compartment (16 x 13 x 3″) holds my laptop and a couple of files. The third zip-closed slot on the outside of the bag holds a charger, papers, magazine, pens etc. Finally, there’s a zippered slot – good for keys and loose change at the airport scanner. This Gator is solidly built with tough wheels and zippers, and a nice rigid handle that’s comfortable for me (6’1″). It’s not cheap (hence 4 stars) but appears well-made from high quality materials.

I purchased one of these as a laptop case to carry my portable printer and scanner (neat receipts) as well and I loved it. The compartments are well padded so if in the event of too many doomsdayers packing their carry on luggage with everything they own and the plane runs out of room for yours, you can check it and your stuff is more likely to still be safe* (make sure to take your laptop out, that’s just smart). However, my biggest complaint was the zippers. I found the zippers to not be very durable and they gave out after only a few months of use. The rest of the bag held up well, but the zippers could have been reinforced better and the bag would have lasted much longer. This issue is what prevented me from purchasing another when it finally came time to bury it in the backyard. RIP beloved projector/laptop bag.
