    Short version:
The Dakine High Roller 175 will carry my 185cm Blizzard Cochise skis along with a second, but slightly shorter, pair of skis.

    Detailed version:
I originally bought the Dakine Concourse Double 185 to hold my 185cm Blizzard Cochise, but kind of hated the way there was still tons of room around the tips causing the awkward sloppy bag rolling through the airport. So, being OCD about all of my gear, I researched everything and decided that the High Roller 175 snowboard bag might do the trick. I was right.

The High Roller 175 fits my 185cm Cochises easily, with some wiggle room at the tip and tail, and zips perfectly without any forceful stretching. The skis do take up the entire length of the bag, but I can easily juxtapose another pair (another 185 could fit but it wouldn’t be nicely seated) in there with enough room to lightly wrap the tips and tails with some clothes. The only downside? There is no interior strap like the Concourse Double, nor is there a padded separator for ski poles (obviously because this is a snowboard bag). That trade off to me is okay for a bag that feels “tailor-made” for the length of my skis and will allow me to pack a little more “tightly”. If you are okay with the lack of the above features that the Concourse Double has, and don’t have skis longer than 185cm, definitely get the High Roller 175. The Concourse Double 185 and 200 are just way too much.

You may ask, why didn’t you just get the Fall Line Double 175 that’s made for skis, you idiot? Well, the High Roller line from Dakine is the exact same as the Concourse Double line. I’m referring to the design of the compartments, and the exterior grab handles, both of which was a deal breaker for me when I compared to the Fall Line Double. (The Fall Line Double has two exterior pockets and lacks the two top side grab handles to make picking up easier). I wanted the Concourse Double to work so bad, but just couldn’t stand the length.

I gave the High Roller 4 stars for missing at least one set of interior straps to hold even a snowboard in place.
I gave the Concourse Double 5 stars for being a great bag – no complaints, just that Dakine needs to offer it in the 175 length!

P.S. I submitted product feedback to Dakine to make a Concourse Double in the size of the High Roller 175, but haven’t heard back. Hopefully they will do it because it’s perfect!

This bag was perfect for it all, March 6, 2016

    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
Took the family from the east coast to the west coast for a ski trip and needed to get my skis (171 cm) and poles, my 11 yr old daughter’s skis and poles, and my son’s snowboard on a plane. This bag was perfect for it all. I did remove the bindings from the snowboard (though they still fit in the bag) and I spent $8 on a foam egg crate which I cut into sections to wrap around the ski bindings and as cushion between the equipment. But once secure, this bag was large enough, rugged enough to deal with baggage handlers, and easy to roll through the airport. There are two grab handles across the top when you need to lift it up into a car or onto the baggage scale. Completely satisfied and highly recommended.
