    I have Alienware 17 GTX-770M.
It’s very heavy and thick laptop.
My Alienware 17 fits nicely inside this backpack, and even has other compartments to put things in.
This has mesh bottle carrier that can go in and out of the little pouch on the side.
I use this for my school; I put pens, pencils, thumb drive, etc. in the front compartment. The front part also have little dedicated thumb drive pouch.
Everything fits nice inside. I can put books in the middle compartment and still put the laptop in the padded back compartment.
I recommend it to anyone with nice big 17″ laptop.

P.S. I saw some reviews about strap or something being ripped and stuff.
I don’t know what they’ve been putting in this backpack. 50 lbs dumbbell or something?
My laptop alone is like 10 lbs. With textbooks and other school supply, it weights over 20 lbs.
I had it for more than 6 months and it seems to be perfectly fine.

When I first received this backpack from Dell for my Alienware 17 back in September of 2014 I was stoked.

It was beautiful out of the package and I promptly filled it up with all of my school supplies and my laptop and charger. It could fit a large 3 ring binder, 2 textbooks, and the charger in the included cable bag in the middle pocket; and my calculator (TI 84), pencils, notecards, etc., and sometimes a small book in the shallowest top pocket. Of course I could sometimes squeeze a mouse and mousepad in the top and middle compartments. Along with the laptop in its compartment I could also fit my digital drawing pad in the felt slot which was very nice. However, this thing was packed to the GILLS carrying all this stuff, it didn’t put any strain on the zippers or anything, but once you close them, things didn’t move around a lot.

So everything was going great with student usage levels until about 2-3 months in when I notice the synthetic leather with the alien graphic on the straps was starting to peel away on the edges (see pictures). This continued to progress for a couple months when the synthetic leather on the top handle started to peel off to the point where is now a year later (see pics). Another issue I have is that on the top little straps of the shoulder strap, one of them wasn’t even sewn to the shoulder strap, so I had to fix that too. On top of that, a zipper handle didn’t just come loose from its part attached to the backpack, it literally snapped the wire on the handle when I went to zip it up and the backpack wasn’t even full that time; so I found a replacement zipper handle for that (see pics).

The worst part came just a week ago when I was going around campus doing my usual business and I decided to take a shortcut from class to get back which involved jumping down a measly 4 foot ledge; when I jumped from said ledge, BOTH buckles used to adjust the shoulder straps broke apart, one completely shattered to bits; I ended up tying the straps together without the buckles just so I could walk back to my place normally.

I have to say, this thing is rubbish if you plan to actually use it a good bit.

I’ve been using this as my daily driver for the past 6-7 months, and it already has a huge hole in the center pocket from being so tight. My normal compliment is my Alienware 17, a 10″ tablet, sunglass case, and a few bottles of soda to last the day. My previous backup wasn’t as room for the laptop, but had plenty of room for extras. This one seems built to focus more on laptop storage with anything more than a charger and stationary being more than it can comfortably handle.
