This bag is great! I can fit my Dell 13″ Inspiron laptop perfectly in the laptop pocket, and I have room to put my case in there as well. The rest of the space comfortably fits a very full folder, a notebook, my wallet, my charger and miscellaneous cords for my computer, along with snacks. I’ve even had a water bottle in there too.

I was impressed that there were side pockets. The fabric sides have a velcro hook that closes it, but you can fit all sorts of things in there (though I’ve only put in pencils, pens, earphones, and other low-profile items). One of these side pockets has a zipper at the bottom so that if you unzip it, it no longer is a pocket, but can fit over suitcase handles to make sure that it doesn’t fall off.

This bag’s handles will not fit over your shoulders, but the straps are actually pretty decent material and I’ve been just fine holding it on my arm or in my hand. The shoulder strap is great as well, and it doesn’t look tacky with the padded portion (they did a really great job making sure that the color matches). Overall, I’m pretty impressed.

Inside the bag there are also two side pockets, that I use to fit my phone (iPhone 5) in one of them, and the other to hold my access badge and car keys.

In addition, this bag holds up pretty wonderfully in heavy rain. I had the misfortune of being outside without an umbrella during a heavy rainstorm, and the outside of the bag was fairly wet when I got safely indoors. I was worried about the things I had put inside, but to my pleasant surprise, there wasn’t a hint of moisture inside the bag or even in the outside pockets. It dried faster than myself! No colors changed or anything. I’m really pleased with this bag. I wanted something that looked a bit more professional than a backpack, but something that I would use in other circumstances as well. I’ve liked being able to use this bag in all sorts of scenarios. When I don’t have my laptop in it, it can fit a whole lot more items, making it very versatile.

However, the handles appear to have been scratching the top of the bag. Thankfully, it’s only where the handles meet where this happens, and I’m sure that if I got some sort of cleaner I would be able to remove it.

Overall, I’m very pleased and very happy with it.

    UPDATE:
It turns out that the pockets on the side aren’t too strong — one of them is beginning to rip at the seams, even though I’ve only used it gently. I think I should be able to fix it by sewing it back on, but I was disappointed that it would rip after only a month or so of use. It hasn’t completely detached, but I’m nervous to use it in case it does. I do think that I should be able to fix it– should being the key word in that sentence. It might have been the dog though, because it just mysteriously appeared one day.

In addition, I’ve attached photos of the ripped pocket, along with a photo of the side of the bag (it’s true to the description!) and of the padded portion of the strap, which matches the leather portion of the bag perfectly!

Updated review: After owning this bag for a couple months the strap broke, however I was contacted by the seller and they graciously sent me a replacement strap. (Thank you!) I am surprised by such good customer service. Hopefully the new strap lasts longer. Overall, this bag is still a little small for me — it fits a notebook and laptop or iPad, with a front pocket for a few small things, but there’s no room for a water bottle. That said, it’s a lovely, sophisticated bag that’s great for business. I don’t know that I can use it for my out of town business trips, but it’s great for a day at the office.
